The 2-7 single draw is a poker variant which is very easy to play and master in a very short period of time. The game has to be played most often so as to adopt a strategy that will make you win effectively in each game you play. In this game, the best lowball hand wins the pot. The basic 27 single draw rules are very simple. If you are used to playing Texas holdem, then each hand considered to be the best or good in holdem is considered as the worst in 2-7 single draw. The best hand in this game is the 2-3-4-5-7. This hand is often hard to come by due to the fact that you are only given one chance to draw.

We will outline some of the best 2-7 single draw strategies that will enable you to win the big pots.

The first strategy would be for you to eliminate all high cards specifically the cards higher than 9 (i.e. 10, J, Q, K, & A). If you have been dealt with more than three cards that are higher than 9, the best option would be for you to fold. Most players always think that they will get lucky and they tend to wait for the draw so as to draw all cards in anticipation that they will certainly get low cards. Players should bear in mind that poker is a game of skill which does not require luck.

At most cases it is advisable to play the game only if you have a good starting hand. A good hand would be considered as a hand which consists of cards that are lower than 9. In this case you would be left with an option of just drawing one card.

Another factor you should consider is focusing on your opponents to what bets they would have made. Position matters, if you are the last player to make a bet you will be able to observe the bets made by other players and this will also determine the number of cards you should draw.

Players should not be over confident. It can be very easy to judge the hands of your opponents to the way they play but you should also consider that poker is a game of skill and technique. Other players will hide themselves so as to mislead you in thinking that they have a poor hand than yours. This technique is known as poker bluffing. Always be confident that your hand wins but do not be over confident because any time the game can move against your way.

Try to look out for the loose and aggressive players. Always take note of the cards that each opponent has played up until the showdown. If you notice a player who plays meaningless cards until the showdown this would be one of your loose players and you would have to play very carefully so has to win lots of cash.

If you have a hand lower than 8 then you can proceed to make a ‘raise’ and you can proceed to make a raise if you have been face by a raise. The best strategy for a player is that s/he must draw a maximum of 2 cards only.
